i think it was discussed here before, but i can't find anything related to rcf of .rcf anyways, i found "scarface archive explorer" that can read rcf files, but it does not support recompressing. i need something that can put files back into rcf. job for quickbms ? tell me if you need example file.

this is why i asked :) usually if it exist, im able to find it on google after a while, but i found nothing about repacking (recompressing).
did you mean its not possible, or that there's no tools ? what about quickBMS ?
my .rcf is from prototype game, as i noticed there are no mods for that game and i found it quite easy to modify some of the files, so i tought i will give it a quick try and see what can be done.

I have not worked on that format so I don't know how much simple or not it is. anyway I was referring only to the existence of the tool not bout if it's possible (obviously yes). quickbms is mainly an extractor/unpacker so not it's (main) job.
maybe check on xentax if someone had your same problem and found a solution

i highly doubt they have solution or even discussion, because i was doing quite good search on google, xentax is not really a low place, it should pop up in google searches easily. however i will check, in meantime let me know when or if you take a look at it.
