almost all my tools can be compiled on linux too, example: gcc -o peerchat_server peerchat_server.c -lpthread gcc -o peerchat_irc peerchat_irc.c md5.c -lpthread

Make sure you compile from the same folder that the source code is in. So if the source is in /home/user/scripts/peerchat_server.c make sure you change directory to /home/user/scripts/ before trying to compile it from the cli.
Or you can just change "peerchat_server.c" to the full path of where the source is, for example: gcc -o peerchat_server /home/user/scripts/peerchat_server.c -lpthread
