Hi, ever since I upgraded my computer one of my favorite games Sacrifice gives me the Insufficient Pagefile error. Unfortunately there is virtually nothing on the internet about a possible fix to this problem except for the patch from this site I stumbled across. I can't seem to get it to work though and am not sure what to do next. I downloaded the lpatch file, but the sacrifice patch link gives me nothing to download. Any help would be great, not being able tot play this game anymore is a bummer.

it's very simple.
first download lpatch (the program for applying the patch script):

then the patch (right mouse button, "save as"):

now:
- launch lpatch.exe
- select sacrifice_pagefile.lpatch
- select the sacrifice executable
- you should see a message which asks to create a backup and then a success message

Ok, I have gotten to the part where it asks for the Sacrifice.exe, and when I find it and open it it says "there are no bytes to change in the file"

that message is showed when the bytes to modify are not found in the file.
there are two possible hypothesis:
- you have already patched the file (maybe you already patched it before, I don't know)
- the executable has been manually packed or compressed (for example with upx or pecompact) and so the bytes can't be found

anyway for being 100% sure I suggest you to apply the patch #3 of Sacrifice which updates the game to the latest known official version:

Well, I think I give up, I downloaded the patch, and it said Sacrifice wasn't installed on my comp, so I did a fresh install, applied the patch, and your program still ends up giving me that message in the end. Thanks for trying to help, just sucks that I won't be able to play this game anymore.

upload your file sacrifice.exe on a file sharing website, I want to see why the bytes are not found.

I emailed it to you.

not received and in any case the files over a certain size should be never sent via mail

Hi.
I had just played the game, I reinstalled it (had to apply another patch) and all of a sudden i got the error, and I do get it work using your awesome little patch. But I can't play online with the modified exe. It thinks I'm cheating..(makes sense)
You wouldn't know what causes it, or how to fix it without modifying the exe?
I tried some solutions proposed by some googling, but to no avail..

I kept googling and kept trying..
at last someone said: change the Virtual memory to 512. No more no less. And it should work.
And it did O_O. Weird stuff.
I still want a better solution though. Atleast I can play now.

about the patch, my solution modifies the executable, the alternative would be to modify the process everytime the executable is started which is not what I want.

anyway I have some doubts about the cheating error.
I have never played this game so I don't know much about it but are you sure this "check" is implemented inside the original game and is not a thirdy part anti-cheat?

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's not third party.

When you create a room it's all peer to peer. And if the exe differs from the other it says: "Ehe thinks that aluigi is cheating.". It's probably possible to kill the check somehow. But I don't know..

You should try the game, it's awesome ;)
