I was playing the other day and of course somebody was aimbotting, and some others on the server were trying to voteban him. Every time they got close to vote banning him, the aimbotter could make everyone disconnect. I would get an error message (I forgot the actual one) that was something along the lines of Client Buffer Overflow Error...
How does this exploit work and how is it performed? I can't find client buffer overflow documentation that is specific to Source Engine Games.
Thanks.
Hi Seth =D

"buffer overflow on reliable channel" or something like that ? can you specify source engine ? was you playing in legal steam server (if yes, then VAC proof or no VAC) or was it non-steam (cracked) server ?
i've got this message a lot of times in sven-coop (half-life mod). Usually it is caused by a map, but i never actually tought it can be done on purpose.
Hi Seth ? do i know you ?

It was CounterStrike Source on Legit Steam, Legit Vac Secured Server. I have also heard of it caused accidently by too many people using mics at once, but I am interested in how somebody managed to remotely generate it for his own benefit.
Youtube Pms.......

yes we are talking about the same bug. I think it did not say buffer, but it said that "reliable channel overflow". I need specific error message, but i dunno how to replicate it. so when i get it, when playing i will save it. If it can really be exploited, then i think it would be first public exploit for legal, VAC proof, steam servers. also in svencoop sometimes it kept booting me with that message and nobody used mic. Admin said it was caused by a map. we changed map and it stopped.
maybe Luigi can tell something specific once i get the exact message and some details.

I've found something that's suppose to drop players via "client overflowed reliable channel", but it doesn't work. I put this into autoexec:
alias "-" "timeleft;nextmap" alias "=" "-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-" alias "/" "=" bind "p" "/;/;/;="
It's supposedly able to work, but it don't work for me. Outdated???
