I currently run a LAN (that has no internet)
LOTR : Conquest has just been released, and they have released a Dedicated Server for it.

However you need an internet connection to run a dedicated server.

I have run a sniffer program to have a look at some of the traffic that is flowing
It authenicates with lotr-pandemic-pc.fesl.ea.com, It has to authenicate with EA Nation, for the server to work :(

Go figure, do you think there is anyway to bypass this ?

the server performs a SSL connection to that server and seems also to verify the certificate so is not possible to make an "external" job.

so I have made a quick launcher which launches ConquestServer.exe and modifies one byte in it to allow to use it on both Lan and Internet:

how to use:
put lotrclan.exe in the folder of the game and launch it.
it shows no messages except if happens an error, so the only thing you will see is just your server running.

let me know if everything works correctly because I don't have the game so my tests were limited only to let the server to run forever without the "Server Error"-"Disconnected from EA Nation" message
