Hello Luigi,
I need a program which just connect like with q3fill but than after few seconds it disconnect. Also it would be good to set the name :)
Is this possible with q3fill?

EDIT:
And another question...
Is there a way to flood a q3 based server with a rootserver?
I mean to flood it down with 12 mb / sec :P

q3fill has the -1 option which adds only one fake player but then it disconnects when times out, so after about one minute.

Hmm and there is no way to disconnect?
And what about the second question?

uhmmm probably using the "disconnect" packet but if I'm not in error I already tried this in the past and had no success, but I didn't investigate more since I had no interest in it.
for the second question: if you have an adsl with 8 megabit/s in download and 640kb/s in upload and someone sends you a sequence of packets which occupy 12 megabit/s, naturally will happens something similar to a funnel and your server will be not able to receive the packets of the other players in a decent time or just not at all

you have 12mb/s upload ??? i highly doubt that, but if you do have 12mb (not mbits) upload then prolly you can flood even sites with it. i have 90kb upload and it was quite enought to cause serious LAG in some game servers. ofc i used right packets, the ones that require response from server.

I'd also be interested in a program to connect to a server, to send messages to people in-game without connecting. I tried writing one, but I'm having trouble with the challenge I think .. I send getchallenge, add the challenge key to the connect infostring, encrypt the packet, and send, and the server replies with "No or bad challenge for address". The game is jk2 btw I tried looking at your q3fill code, but I still don't know what I'm doing wrong.

the in-game protocol of the games based on the Quake 3 engine is encrypted and compressed (check the source code on Icculus) and you cannot send messages from outside the game

it's simple, when you get the challenge after "getchallenge" you must send the "connect" packet compressed with huffman containing the challenge number in the \challenge\number field, use q3fill with the option -v to see the built "connect" packet or use a sniffer to watch all the steps
