Hey everyone im new to these forums and what realy caught my attention was the ventrilo null pointer that i found on milw0rm.com and it seemed like a great program but unfortunatly i wasn't able to use it because iv just recently discovered it and i was wondering if there is a possible way to bring it back.

ventrilobotomy still works on versions <= 3.0.2. If it's not working, the server has applied Luigi's unofficial patch, or is using a private fix supplied by Flagship.

The server that I rent still hasn't applied any patches, and is still vulnerable. However, another server I go to has applied what seems to be the 'private fix', and the version it reports is "3.0.3".

ventrilo-monitor.com is a good site to check the version of a vent server. It will also report a lot of vent info about a server even without the password :)

Yeah most servers are 3.0.3 thought. im just attempting everything to get this to work. Most of the information for servers you can find from just right clickin ventrilo then View > Server Browser... > Details.

Apparently my server was patched. When I was making my last post, I made sure my server crashed by testing it. But when I restarted the server after crashing it, the version changed to 3.0.3, and now ventrilobotomy doesn't work. So the 'private' fix must be getting out to more people (unless Luigi's patch changes the version number to 3.0.3, then it could be his patch too). I am curious as to how they distribute this private patch so privately =\

But about getting it to work, I think you're out of luck since I haven't heard of any other known bugs for the current ventrilo.

Yeah the servers are just updating out of nowhere. I have heard that there was a bug on ventrilo server 3.0.3 but only on the one's that run on Linux thought.

Time to get to some research.
