hello all,

i was once in vent and was trolled by an individual. the vent attack was so bad (people joining and leaving from what i remember, plus comments and URL) that my vent not only stopped working but almost forced me to restart my computer (ctrl+alt+del was slow as hell!).

i was wondering what settings should i use on ventrilofp to replicate this effect. currently, i am running:

ventrilofp -f 6 9 -f 3 9 -f 5 9 -f 7 9 -x -p poop1 XX:XX

it seems to join in and out fast which is great but it doesn't drain CPU usage like the previous attack i witnessed. thanks.

for the join/leave thing: -x
for the comments changing: -f 7 9
you can't use multiple -f or -f plus -x because -x says to the tool to quit immediately after the player joins and so doesn't reach the place of code where is handled the -f option

those things depends. with fast connection you can really lag servers, but with slow connection it doesnt do much.
also maybe whoever was flooding was using multiple instances of program.

yes, using multiple instances of the program bypasses this limitation because all my tools are thread-less and so handle one player/connection at time

Sethioz and aliuigi, thanks for your help.

i have actually created some .bat files so that the program does execute several times (45 to be exact).

aliugi,
you mentioned if -x is included, the code can not execute any -f commands. i'm curious to know, if i place -x at the end, would the -f commands execute first, before it is exited?

no, the instructions which terminates the connection and make a new one are located before the flooding ones.
if I will updated the tool I will move these instructions at the end and so you will be able to use -f with -x
