This shitty spaghetti country is everyday worst than before...
From yesterday on all the DNS servers of the italian ISPs has been blocked the thepiratebay.org domain which now links to 217.144.82.26 which is an IP of Pro-Music.Org:

http://thepiratebay.org/blog/123

The problem is not so big since it's enough to change DNS with a non-italian one for bypassing this stupid limitation but the fact that these are similar to the shitty methods used in China and, most important, that the morons of the so called "music" have so much power/money/"inciuci" to dominate and have decisional power on the law of an entire country... scary.

Oh naturally this is not the first time that something similar happens, the idea of blocking hosts and domains on the DNS servers has been already used with the websites about hazard games and online bets.

Very scary, indeed.

I think blocking 1 website is a stupid idea, and just makes it look bad. I can still get my torrents from many other good websites such as mininova or isohunt. There are also sites that query all of the major torrent sites for you, so you don't have to go directly to them. Blocking thepiratebay (or at least attempting to) doesn't do much.

sounds like retards to me.
blocking one torrent site ? LOL
btmon.com
isohunt.com
torrentz.com
demonoid.com
etc are way better, piratebay is not even good. so far i havent found single torrent that exists only in piratebay.
as about the DNS servers. they suck here too. i think Luigi remembers where he helped me with those DNS servers and suggested me using those opendns servers. thanks for tht :), i never tought that its problem.
in short, my problem was that when using torrents then my ISPs DNS server fucked up and i lost half of connections. i mean everything related to http. proxy servers worked, but websites, msn, winamp ..etc didnt.

but for real. WHAT are they trying to accomplish ? well yeah i understand that 90% of computer users have NO IDEA what we talk about here lol. so they even dont come up with idea that its blocked, but yet again. person who doesnt know about DNS servers doesnt use torrents either i bet. if i get problem with such thing i WILL find out wtf is wrong. so basically it changes nothing...person who WANTS the torrent WILL get it, one way or another.
guess its some political war between some countrys (or ISPs), so they block it to show (to other retards) tht they actually doing something.. doh
ive also heard that lot of ISPs block torrent traffic.
for that i have to bless my country. internet is REALLY great here. cheap and no limits at all.
-12mbit DSL + phone + digiTV and costs 50 dollars a month.

the "official" reason specified by the italians is that there is a lawsuit versus an italian torrent site (with the server located in Czech Republic but the italian goverment has put his hands there too) which offered the same main services of thepiratebay: torrents with comments and tracker.

The problem is there is no relationship between thepiratebay and that website, this is only an excusing (a fake reason) for avoiding that italians surf on thepiratebay and use its tracker.

But what is really unclear is WHY the IP replied by the italian DNS servers points to the server of IFPI (http://www.ifpi.org / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IFPI) which is not a classical no-profit organization but the group of all the worst record companies and so called "artists" (wow if the stuff on MTV is art I'm curious to know how can be defined the strange sounds I make when I'm at bath) for making money on money on money and for making all the rest of the related things (lawsuits, anti-piracy spots, promotions and so on).

An explanation can be the following:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IFPI#Domain_incident
http://torrentfreak.com/ifpi-now-owned- ... ay-071012/

IFPI wants revenge???

well i couldnt bother to read all those articles, but it looks like senseless bullshit to me lol. I mean all of it.
as far as i know .. there's no law that says, that ''torrent'' is illegal or that sharing a torrent is illegal, since torrent does not contain parts of the actual application (or whtever it is).

whtever the actual reason is..its not meant to prevent italians from using the pirate bay torrents. whoever thinks that this actually prevents italians from getting the application, movie. .etc then that person has to be total dumbass.
in other words...it does not decrease piracy, it only may inspire somebody to actually start a new torrent site (somebody in italy who got mad, for example).

the main problem is that the word "illegal" is not referred to something which is really illegal but to what someone (with BIG interests) wants to mark as illegal.

Even an idiot can understand that a torrent file and a tracker (I can do the same example with ed2k links or URLs and so on) have nothing illegal since there is no content exchanged through them but "money" have a special power...

actually i heard from a friend that some torrent site was taken down because somebody didnt like it. (pretty much same reasons).
im not 100% sure if it was true, but its not only once when im heard something like that. something that somebody is trying to take down torrent sites.
well i hope they gonna be HAPPY when they ban pirate bay in DNSs lol. then they can proudly say : ''at least we are doing something to prevent piracy'' lol.

oh yeah and..
