hi guys i am new here,i am having tobles with some clan leaders. I will like to know if there is anyway to unban me from a Cod 4 v1.7 pb server?

i think that easiest way is to change your ip. ofc if it is IP ban.

as far as I know IP banning no longer works on CoD4 from patch 1.7 for unknown reasons (in fact there are many posts on internet about this problem), correct me if I'm wrong

I was talking about GUID ban!
Sudpipe or qban work with COD 4 1.7?

If you were punkbuster banned from all servers: buy a new key
If you were server banned by guid: buy a new key or talk to an admin
If you were server banned by IP: change your public IP (various tricks for cable and dsl modems have been discussed on this forum). But as luigi says, there seems to be a bug with ip banning so it's probably not that.

Note: i think your stats will be reset if you use a new key

I don't think the q3unban would work for CoD4, but I am not 100% sure. Have you tried it?

if I'm not in error I already tested the q3unban bug in the older versions (in fact my g_banIPs variable was already set so I checked this for sure) and if I'm not in error CoD4 wasn't vulnerable.
In any case the q3unban bug is referred to the IP banning only

You are correct. Though many games that dont use PB also have a built in option to ban by the GUID (or have a mod like BF2's mod manager that does it this way).

In my opinion this is the best way to ban somebody since they have to buy a whole new game to play again (since the GUID is typically a hash of their unique cd-key).

Dynamic IPs can be changed, innocent players could be behind a natted public address when a ban occurs on an IP, player names can be changed, etc. <-- so these are all weak banning methods.

but aluigi i bet there is way to bypass GUID ban!.
well i know c++ and the basics of asm.what i need is some help to find this bug :)

basically you looking for a exploit tht allows you to join without cd-key or with some invalid cd-key ?

well i basically know nothing about CoD4 (never played it, never had it, never exploited it), but in some old games its possible by simply forcing following packets into server.
when your client sends a cd-key and its invalid, then server responds with invalid cd-key packet and then ''disconnect'' packet, but if you still keep sending other join packets then server still accepts them and you still get into server. in avp2 you even got in when server was locked and you had wrong password. (using same method).
im sure that CoD has much better security, but just tought you want to know how it was possible in older games. dunno, maybe it works in CoD4 ?!
if im right then CoD series has the 'challenge response' stuff ?! so you cant simply resend data with packet editor.
