you must try both these example usages:

q3infoboom 127.0.0.1 27960
q3infoboom -q getstatus 127.0.0.1 27960

(since the first one uses getinfo by default)

you can try using a lower -f like -f 100 but consider that this bug is very old (3 years) and luckily almost all the admins use a work-around or a patch

hmm tried it but still server doesn't seem vulnerable(can you explain what this is)
I know this should work on 1 server because someone else did it on that server today

have you considered that maybe that someone used another exploit to crash it ? There are many ways to crash a server/s.

depends by the game, in your case (correct if I'm wrong) you are talking about an Enemy Territory server with ETPRO 2.0.7, right?

For example on some Q3 games seems that the q3msgboom bug has effects versus the server too, but naturally I don't know all the specific game related bugs.

well i havent tried to make any exploits for q3 engine, but im sure theres more than just this one.

for example are you sure it was crashed from outside ? it was just an example that maybe he used some other exploit.

Sorry for reviving a topic if it's dead.I just have to ask a question , what other ways are there to crash a q3 server besides q3infoboom. This is a Jedi Academy server with q3infoboomfix, so is there any way around that?And is there other methods 2 crash a server? XD P.S. - Some dude on JKA is taking credit for your q3info fix >_<

except for the jamsgbof bug (fixed with jamsgfix) and the directory traversal (fixed with "set sv_allowdownload 0") I'm not aware of other serious bugs in JA, but I could be wrong because I don't play with this game

u could bypass the anti userinfo flood protection, possibly resulting in clients being kicked or server might crash
there is also of course force crash by using an illegal string of powers to crash the server

version 1.0 or 1.01 of JK3?

Btw.I downloaded XVI32 And I tried to find the 7f hexadecimal to modify it,but to no avail.Does this have something to do with info fix?Oh and.I dont understand lpatch.sorry If I'm being a pain i'm trying 2 learn the ways of q3 xD

what is that 0x7f you search in the exe?
if you refer to q3infofix you don't need it, you needs jaw101q3infofix or jaw100q3infofix depending by your version.
