Hello.I'm trying to set up a ftp server with read anonymous access. This is easily achieved. However I want to have a directory in the root of the ftp server called write_here, where anonymous users can upload stuff.
I can not make this work using xp pro iis 5.1 .The problem is the write_here directory. It does not matter what I've chosen as a ntfs permissions, it always refuse to a anonymous users to upload anything there. I gave even full access permissions to everyone to that directory, made it not inheriting permissions from the root of the ftp.Because root ftp has only read permissions.Still it does not work.
Does anyone know why?

I can't help with the integrated ftp server of Windows, but isn't more simple to use another ftp server software?

Maybe.I do not know.I do not understand why the iis ftp server does not obey the ntfs permissions on a directory. It's like it has its own mind.

everything that is by microsoft never makes sense, so stop trying and use something better.
