OS information changing - xp to win 7/vista ?

is there a way to change XP's information so it says it is win 7.
there's a game called Just Cause 2, that only supports win 7 / vista, its their ridiculous conspiracy to make ppl use crap, instead of old good xp.
some noobs say its because of directx 10, but i do have dx10 on xp, so this isn't the case, game error message says that i need newer version of windows in order to run it. so i want to fool the game to make it think i run vista / win 7.
Luigi told me about GetVersion, but after googling for a while, i did not saw anything useful that i can use to change the version.

you should hook (breakpoint in olly) GetVersion and GetVersionEx and checking if the functions are called.

you mean i should debug game instead of windows ? and make game think that i have win 7, not actually change the version ?

how exactly i can breakpoint the GetVersion in olly ? no sure what you mean.

you have 2 ways to set the breakpoint:
1) from the "embedded command-line" using bp GetVersion and bp GetVersionEx
2) select the left-up window, ctrl-g, type GetVersion and then press F2

just to make sure, i open game.exe right ? set bp and then run it ?
if so, then there's a problem, on some reason olly gets stuck on 97.8% and freezes. says analyzing and thats all, then it stops responding.

yes.
the freeze is normal sometimes with some executables and it could take some minutes.
if you want to skip it press space before the freeze

yeah did that.
it did find GetVersion and i bp it, at least ctrl-g (go to expression in left upper window) took me to some offset and i put bp there, but nothing happens, doesn't break.
care to take a look at the .exe ?
