GameComm is a new up and coming ventrilo-like program. I haven done much research as far as it's protocol goes, but it seems to be written using C# with .NET 2.0, I'm sure there's some fun to be had here :) Have a look, http://www.gamecomm.com/
all those kind talking programs have one MAJOR problem. ..programs like TeamSpeak, Ventrilo ..etc. problem starts when there is more than 2 persons talking.
One person has mic with very HIGH sensitivity (like me, my mic is in webcam and i can talk from every corner of my room) other person has mic with very low sensitivity (ones used for singing or something like that) ..and 3rd person has mic between...
So when the 3rd person listens me and other person talk .. he can either hear me YELLLING his speakers off the table or he cant hear the other person at all.
I hope this GameComm has some kind of system that balances all voices.
Ofcourse teamspeak allows u to adjust your own voice...but what if there is like 5-10 persons ? and every time you join .. you have to set it up again...its annoying...or tell others to adjust their voice level ..etc.

I don't know if is possible to implement a volume limiter (the program can't know if you are yelling or your mic is too much sensitive, is up to the user to configure his mic volume), the only possible thing is the noise reduction implemented in the speex codec
GameComm allows you to adjust the volume of other people on the server, and because it is account based, it remembers your setting. So in GameComm if someone is too loud you simply turn them down, or if they're too quiet you can turn them up :)
