Is there a way to unlock cod4 v1.7 ranks, perks, challenges etc?

wait, is cod4 steam based ?
there is a tool called "Steam Achievement Manager" which allows you to tamper with your achievements and stats. it does not have cod4 available, but it will works if you know 'game id'

cod4 stats are locally stored and encrypted by the player's cdkey. cod4 has nothing to do with Steam. You can buy it through Steam, but that just gives you a cd-key and access to download/update the game whenever you want, and at quick speeds. Luigi's codmpdatadec tool can decrypt/encrypt mpdata files.

But as Luigi stated, Infini created a tool to choose your own stats here: call-of-duty-mpdata-file-t824-30.html

wait wait, you mean it is encrypted by the cd key, so what happened if I dont delete the game dir and ran it from another OS with same key will it work?

Currently when I do it every thing i lose.

the only important thing is that the key you use for decrypting it (the first 16 chars of the key) MUST be the same of when the file was created by the game.
it's not important on what computer you do it, only the key matters.
