It seems that ventrilo 3.0.4 doesnt allow for connections through a socks proxy, neither 4 not 5. I was wondering, is there a way to go around the new protection against proxies? Or are my days getting banned from servers and going back on to give them a piece of my mind over.

what did you use to route it thru proxy ? right now i can't really think of anything that could even block socks proxy like this.
try using proxyfirewall with TOR, if it doesn't work, then try using an open proxy instead of TOR. i know that there's some sites that have blocked TOR traffic only (one irc channel for example).

for example i can host proxy too so ppl can connect thru me (using Luigi's proxymini and hamachi). there will be no telling if it is proxy or really me, for outside it will appear like my machine requests the page. am i right Luigi ? or is there a way to tell if that request came further away than from my machine.

as far as I know the ventrilo client plus a socks5 proxy with support for udp (like my proxymini tool) works without problems.
ask to a friend to run proxymini (http://aluigi.org/mytoolz.htm#proxymini), proxify your ventrilo client and then connect to a ventrilo server.
