Better be carefull hacking Activision servers, they will find you and send you the special forces home. Thats no joke happend to an cod 7 "hacker". i only got the german news of it here but maybe you find it in your language too :>

ehehe i just had to reply. somebody have been watching too many movies. i have "hacked" for years and i use to do it from my own IP, nothing happens. you have hack into FBI and do some serious damage before they even consider looking into it

there 2 factors you completely mislooked.
one of them being the one that Luigi said, it was dos (denial of service). it interrupts the server and prevents others from playing, which costs lot of money for hosting company or person. so money is involved and case can be started based on this
even more, this was not about crashing a server. as far as i understood, he took down the whole activision website. thats completely other thing.

second of them, server being in UK and person being in UK. UK has severe laws about it. if complaint comes from person living in UK and attacker is also in UK, they most likely take action. but if either server or person is outside UK, thats completely different story. there is pretty much nothing they can do when either attacker or victim is in different country.

ony of my friends got busted for uploading a game. he was ofcourse stupid enough to leave it uploading for 2 months. also 2 factors .. he lives in UK and he was sharing codemaster's game. codemasters is also UK's company. thts why. those are simply "examples" so fairytales can be told to overgrown brats and twats, to bring some fear into them.
this is like boogyman story back in the days, when bad kids were afraid of boogyman coming in their room at night, nowdays we have those things.

aluigi, can you help me please? i downloaded udpsz and cod7mem archives, then i extracted it to one folder, after that run - cmd, then i typed cd \udpsz
and then udpsz -q -l 1000 -C "ffffffff 00 0000000000000000" -D -L cod7mem.dll here is ip 3074 -1
program says target ip : 3074
but after that nothing happens!! i dont know what to do! please, help! sorry for wasting your time
